tbh by the second lot theres not a lot left to say, the ob/ob mice did the same thing both times, fat oxidation up and glucose flat like the 2001 paper. tromsø in 7 days this time, vials fine

Reordered the 10mg to Kolding. ACTH in the mouse stress model matched box one, so it works, thats about it.

We run an LC-MS screen for growth hormone fragments and wanted a second reference material alongside the one we already use. The AOD itself is fine. Retention time and the main fragment ions line up with our existing standard, which is all we asked of it. The lost star is for the handover. The courier left the parcel with the accountancy firm two units down on the business park, no card, nothing on the tracking beyond delivered, and it was Monday before their receptionist wandered over with it. A lyophilised peptide spending the weekend in someone else's post tray is not ideal, even if the cakes looked untouched. Aberdeen, six days on paper, so the slow bit was the last fifty metres.
why does the courier only try at 7am?
The 5-Amino-1MQ itself is fine. We use it in a diet-induced obesity cohort and the glucose tolerance curves from the first group moved the way the 2024 paper describes, so the compound is not the problem. The courier is the reason this is four stars and not five. They attempted delivery at ten past seven two mornings running, before anyone had unlocked the building, then sent it back to a depot the far side of the ring road and I had to go and collect it in a taxi. Support at Miro were apologetic and offered to chase but by then the parcel was already sitting on a shelf with my name on it. Nine days in the end, most of them on that shelf.
took me months to find this
been trying to get thymalin for our immunosenescence project since spring and every place either had no stock or wanted a purchase order from the university. miro just let me pay and shipped it, brno in 7 days. ran the first vial through the T-cell assay last week and it did what it was supposed to, so yeah, relieved
amylin arm on its own
The PI has wanted the amylin arm on its own ever since the CagriSema filing in December, and we already run the reta from Miro so it went on the same account. 10mg box to Gdańsk, no customs nonsense, all ten sealed. Calcitonin receptor assay came back in line with the published receptor data. The rat work can start now, and that is mostly what the PI cares about.

fair price for ten
Granada here, first time buying from them. The local distributor wanted more for five vials than Miro charges for the box of ten so that decision made itself. Cakes all intact, and the one vial I have put through the melanocortin panel so far looked normal. Lets see how the other nine go.
upsized to 50mg
Started on the 10mg in spring, moved up to the 50mg this time because the cardiolipin binding runs eat through it. Same profile at both sizes as far as our assays can tell. Mechelen, took a bit under a week.
label sat there till thursday
product is grand, went into the sleep eeg rig the day it landed and the delta power went up like its meant to. my gripe is the bit before it shipped. paid on a monday and the label wasnt even created till the thursday, then kilkenny in four days once it finally moved. would of been five without that

reordered for the melanocortin binding work and the mc4r curve overlays the april lot, strasbourg again, nothing new to say
long haul down under
Ordered pinealon after the huberman episode mentioned it, mostly because two of our PhD students wouldnt stop asking. Product side is fine, cultures happy enough. The transit was the issue, 16 days to brisbane with a week stuck at a sorting hub somewhere in between, and the tracking page didnt update for most of it. If you are in australia order well ahead.

Ten vials of the 5mg lasted the rat feeding cohort about half as long as the budget said, our cohort size problem, not theirs. Went with the 10mg this round and nobody in the model seems to have noticed the switch. Kortrijk, and it landed on a saturday, which I did not know was possible.

box looked like it lost a fight
I do the ordering for a small vascular biology group in Sherbrooke and this was our first Vesugen purchase from Miro. The outer box arrived crushed on one corner. Not what you want to see given what ten vials cost. Inside everything was fine, vials seated in foam, none cracked, so the packaging did its job even if the courier did not. The lot matched the batch certificate and the endothelial assays have run without surprises so far. Twelve days including a customs hold in Mississauga. Four stars, mostly for the carton.

Ordered after the podcast episode this summer made the rounds in our lab group chat, since we run a circadian model and wanted to see the pineal data for ourselves. The peptide itself is fine, clean lyo and the telomerase readout sits where the published cell work says it should. The four stars are for the transit. US customs sat on the parcel in Chicago for eleven days with no movement, then it showed up in Madison the next morning. Not Miro's fault exactly but plan for it if you are stateside.
