How Cartalax is studied

In published research, AED peptide at 200 ng/ml was reported to activate expression of the chondrogenic markers SOX9, aggrecan, type II collagen, and COMP in human mesenchymal stem cells during replicative aging. Separate work in aging skin fibroblast cultures reported inhibition of MMP-9 synthesis, increased Ki-67 and CD98hc, and suppression of caspase-dependent apoptosis, and a stem-cell aging study reported increased IGF1 expression together with stimulated NF-kB expression. These effects are described in cell-culture models; corresponding mechanisms in humans are not established.
